Your safety is our concern
The safe operation of rowing craft on Queensland's waterways is a priority for Rowing Queensland. All rowers,
coxswains and coaches are expected to operate in a safe and healthy manner and not engage in any behaviour that is
contrary to the code of conduct.
Incident Reporting
In an ongoing effort to promote a safe recreational environment for rowers, Rowing Queensland has invested in an incident reporting framework that aims to gather information directly from our members to assist in the development of infrastructure and education programs and on-water compliance programs to benefit all of our members.
The collected data will be used to identify trends, or common safety concerns on our rivers and waterways, and proactively address them with the assistance of Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) and other relevant stakeholders, This will allow Rowing Queensland to improve service provision and education into the areas of greatest need for our sport.
Remember that an ‘Incident’ means any unplanned event that causes, or has the potential to cause, an injury or illness and/or damage to equipment, buildings, or the natural environment. Incidents range from near-misses to serious incidents and emergencies. Knowing more about your incident, or what you have witnessed, may prevent someone else from having one similar.
